Government Programs; Why They Must End

Government Programs, Why They Must End.

It is way past time to put an end to unnecessary government programs, and when I say all unnecessary government programs I mean almost all of them. I suppose there are a few that are necessary and useful but very few. Most of them only cause people to become dependent on government and then when they become insolvent and unmanageable, people are left high and dry without a way to support themselves and their families.

The first waste of taxpayers money I was familiar with was the soil bank that became popular in the 1950s. I was really young at the time, but even then I could see it would only lead to waste , abuse and fraud. Sure enough it did, most farmers who took advantage of it were farmers who only farmed part time, they had jobs in town. What the soil bank did was enable them to place their land in a government program, work more hours in town and thus make money off the back of the tax payers. Most of the land that was placed in the program, was unproductive or at least less productive than the land that was kept out of the program.

Although not a program as such, it is still another prime example of government waste and inefficiency. the Post Office loses billions of dollars each and every year. So how do they do this, one reason could be they give you a box to ship your merchandise in, that box probably costs them at least a dollar. On top of that , you can ship up to 70 pounds in that box for a low rate of about ten dollars. No way is that a money maker, you don’t see UPS or Fed-Ex doing  it that cheaply. UPS and Fed-Ex have to show a profit or go out of business. The post office keeps it’s parcel post rates unreasonably low to try and capture market share from private companies and by raising the first class rates every year or so. In the first class market there is no competition, it is illegal to compete with the post office in this area.

The post office probably gives away 4 or 5 billion boxes a year. If they would just quit giving away free boxes, they might be able to show a profit, and save the taxpayers a ton of money and eliminate the funding of competition of private business. Under this system the  employees of UPS and Fed-Ex are supporting their competition with their tax dollars. What a deal!

I could state many more instances of the same abuse of  taxpayer funded handouts. The only result of government subsidies is it makes every one dependent on government.

In most northern states it is illegal to put a salt block or food  out for deer, as they become dependent on the salt block or food, then when the food is gone the deer can starve.

The same goes for depending on the government, people become dependent on the free stuff , not only that, but the government then has to turn around and subsidize someone else because they can’t  make it. It’s hard to compete when your competition is getting  subsidies.
I think it should be illegal to make people dependent on the government, it totally destroys self reliance and self esteem.

Our country was  founded on the ideals of free enterprise, capitalism, and free will, not socialism where one can supposedly depend on government for everything.

Five Agreements to a Better Life

Five Agreements to a Better Life

Not my post, but it pretty much says it all.

If you decide that you want to help  change the world, the easiest
way is by practicing five agreements:

be impeccable with your word;

don’t take anything personally;

don’t make assumptions;

always do your
best;

and be skeptical, but learn to listen.

These are the tools to
change your world , and they are nothing but pure
common sense. If you practice the five agreements, if you make them
your way of life, there won’t be any more war in your head. There won’t
be any more war with your loved ones. There will be peace.

You deliver a message every time you speak. The question is: do you
deliver the truth, or do you deliver lies? When the message you deliver
comes from truth and love, you are happier. And just by being happier,
everyone benefits because your joy, your happiness, your heaven is
contagious. When you are happy, the people around you are happy too, and
it inspires them to change their own world.

We represent a whole legacy, and when I say “we” I’m speaking of all
humans. Our legacy is love, it’s joy, it’s happiness. Let’s enjoy this
world. Let’s enjoy one another. We are meant to love one another, not
to hate one another. Let’s stop believing that our differences make us
superior or inferior to one another. Let’s not believe that lie. Let’s
not be afraid that our different colours make us different people. Who
cares? It’s just another lie. We don’t have to believe all the lies and
superstitions that control our lives. We can return to the truth, and
be messengers of truth. We can change our whole way of thinking, and
have a wonderful love affair with life. It’s incredible what we can do
if we really want to do it. All we need is to be aware of what we are
doing, and to return to the authenticity we were born with.

This is an invitation to be authentic, to follow your heart, to be
free of superstitions and lies. And I’m not asking you to try to change
the world. Don’t try – just do it. Take the action today. By adopting
the Five Agreements, you will create peace in your head, in your own
world, and thereby help to create peace in the entire world.

The Five Agreements:

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word – Speak with integrity. Say only
what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to
gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of
truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally – Nothing others do is because of
you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their
own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others,
you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions – Find the courage to ask questions and to
express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as
you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this
one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best – Your best is going to change from moment to
moment. It will be different when you are healthy as opposed to when
you are sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will
avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

5. Be Skeptical, But Learn to Listen – Don’t believe yourself or
anybody else. Use the power of doubt to question everything you hear:
Is it really the truth? Listen to the intent behind the words, and you
will understand the real message.

Enlightenment

At this period of time in the history of man, there is probably more individual searching being done into the theories behind the origin of the human race, what happens after death, the possibility of life on other planets, and what our relationship is to these life forms, if they do exist. There are millions of people who are questioning the existence of God, who he really is, and what is my relationship with him? Is he someone who mysteriously floats around on a cloud watching and judging us from above like some bigger than life Santa Claus, or is he, like many of the esoteric sciences claim, a part of our inner Self, whom we have constant contact with, someone whom we and everything in the universe are connected and are thus one? Each of us in our own way is experiencing what God is, and thus we are each a part of God, thus we are God! This book is a brief account of my search for my own truth

Aboriginal Beliefs , Modern Day Life

Aboriginal Beliefs, Modern Day Life

In Aboriginal folk lore , nothing is more sacred that the Rainbow Serpent. Just as Christians believe God is the Creator, the aborigines believe the Rainbow Serpent is the Creator. Aborigines who have claimed to have met the Rainbow Serpent see it as a reptile, thus the name Rainbow Serpent.

They believe the Rainbow Serpent came from the sun and created everything and watches over us.  She is very sacred and only tribal elders are capable of meeting her, most describe the encounter as more of a feeling than an actual physical meeting.

It’s like the wind blowing, if you believe it, it is there. Many have compared the meeting to the Loch Ness monster, if you believe it , you see it.

Although many are losing sight of their ancient beliefs, many aborigines still live as their ancestors have for thousands of years. Many still make pilgrimages to the sacred sites where their ancestors have gone since the beginning of time. Many have the intuitive powers that were instilled in them by the ancients. Thus they know where the sites are, many know when the weather will change, where wild game is for hunting, and many still can put curses on others although they are thousands of miles apart.

Not only can they learn much from us,the aborigines have much to teach us if we would only listen. Many times missionaries go to these lands, not only Australia, but to other areas, such as Belize and Africa as well, to convert the native peoples to another belief system, which the missionaries deem to be superior.

That shouldn’t be the purpose of the visit, often times the teacher is meant to be the student. There is much we need to learn of our native cultures and their attachment to nature and the earth.

True , I don’t think any of us want to live in a Tee Pee or a Humpie as the Aborigines do, but they also have a connection with the land and nature that needs to be maintained ,and many times re-learned by modern man.

We came from the earth, and hence we shall return, at least our bodies did and will.

I for one don’t want to give up my computer and flat screen TV, but we can have it both ways, and probably in the long run, the only way we will be able to keep enjoying all the luxuries of life we now enjoy, is to re-connect with the land as our ancestors and native peoples have.

I’m no tree hugger, I am a dyed in the wool conservative, but the word conservative means to conserve.

Some in today’s world believe we need to give up all our modern conveniences and go back to living the way people lived two hundred years ago. They believe there is something evil about enjoying our present life, freedom, and all the modern conveniences we enjoy today. Hogwash!

God or the Rainbow Serpent, or who ever you worship, with our help created everything we have. The universe and all things there-in contained were put here for us to enjoy, not to waste, but to enjoy and appreciate . We live in a limitless universe, it is impossible to “run” out of anything.

It is time to forget about feeling guilty about all we have, it is time to remember how we came about it and realize that as long as we lead a good life, work and contribute to society, then we deserve to be healthy, wealthy, and wise.

I always appreciate comments and your views on the current topic.

Echo of Life

 Echo of Life

Words Create Actions

A son and his father were walking on the mountains.Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams:”AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”

To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating,
somewhere in the mountain: “AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!”
Curious, he yells: “Who are you?”
He receives the answer: “Who are you?”
Angered at the response, he screams: “Coward!”
He receives the answer: “Coward!”
He looks to his father and asks: “What’s going on?”
The father smiles and says: “My son, pay attention.”
And then he screams to the mountain: “I admire you!”
The voice answers: “I admire you!”
Again the man screams: “You are a champion!”
The voice answers: “You are a champion!”
The boy is surprised, but does not understand.
Then the father explains: “People call this ECHO ,but really this is LIFE.
It gives you back everything you say or do.
Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.
If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.
If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.
This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life;
Life will give you back everything you have given to it.

YOUR LIFE IS NOT A COINCIDENCE.
IT’S A REFLECTION OF YOU!

2011 Year of Transition

2011

A Year of Transitions

As we enter the year 2011, many people are beginning to sense that things just aren’t the same as they were. It may be hard to put a finger on just what is going on , but something is definitely in the air.

As we approach the year 2012, many changes are taking place, not only in the world, but in our personal lives as well. Many of us feel a sense of being “stuck” or in a rut. Being dissatisfied with the way things are, but sensing the old way of solving problems just isn’t working anymore.

At this time, many issues are surfacing that have been hidden for not only years, but lifetimes as well. As  the fears from the depths of our soul are surfacing, many things we have forgotten about or just plain ignored are raising their ugly heads once again, to finally be dealt with and resolved.

Good old karma is once again surfacing , it needs to be dealt with so we can move onto the more enlightened life awaiting us. This is a year of transition, providing a path to the year 2012 which will provide many opportunities for new growth and contentment.

Not all will sense this, but many will, the one’s who don’t sense it will come along for the ride, or fade off into oblivion, seeking a different reality than the one we are destined to experience.

It will not be an easy year for some, however, what else is new? I have found most years are challenging in their own right. This year gives us the opportunity to clear out old karma, settle our thoughts and get ready to move on to a different and more rewarding life. You’ll notice I didn’t say easier.

The first half of the year will be the most difficult, with the first three months  being the most trying, as we endeavor to clear out all the junk in our reality. Once the path is cleared, the future will become more evident and it will be much  easier to proceed.

One must look inward to pass through this time so as to deal with the least amount of hardship and trials. Find your inner God, communicate with him and ask for assistance to find the right answers for you. Reconnect with your mission in life, your life purpose. Only in this way, can one proceed on the correct path.

During this transitional time, remove the blocks of fear residing in your consciousness, only in this way can the inspirational light buried in your being be illuminated for all to see and benefit.

Remember, we all volunteered for this mission. We choose before birth to partake in this opportunity for soul growth. Don’t let the time pass and do nothing.

As the year 20112 approaches and passes, many will find a new purpose and direction in life, most will sense an increased awareness and responsibility to not only our world but to our fellow creatures as well.

Why Australia was Unprepared for Flooding

Why Australia was unprepared for Flooding

Found this yesterday, thought it was interesting.

You have heard, no doubt, of all the Australian flooding.  You may have
seen photos of all the Australian flooding.  Would it surprise you to
know that one of the reasons they were unprepared for it is because they
have been warned for years of upcoming droughts due to global warming?
This is from Christopher Booker at the Telegraph, the UK Telegraph:
“What was the role of warmists in the Queensland flood disaster? —
Australia was told to prepare for droughts as a result of climate
change, and let down its guard against flooding, writes Christopher
Booker. Ever more alarming facts are emerging to show how Brisbane’s
floods were made infinitely worse by cockeyed decisions inspired by the
obsession of the Australian authorities with global warming.

“Inevitably, the country’s warmist lobby has been voluble in claiming that such a
‘freak weather event’ (as the BBC called it) is a consequence of
man-made climate change. But far from being an unprecedented ‘freak
event’, the latest flood was nearly a foot below the level of one in
1974 and 10 feet below the record set in 1893.  For years, Australia’s
warmists have been advising the authorities that the danger posed to the
country by global warming is not floods but droughts: not too much rain
but too little. One result, in Brisbane, was a relaxation of planning
rules, to allow building on areas vulnerable to flooding in the past.”
In other words, flood plains were deregulated to allow people to build
on ’em because of this global warming nonsense.

“As long ago as 1999, this was seen as potentially disastrous by an expert Brisbane
River Flood Study (which was ignored and for years kept secret). Instead
of investing in its flood defences, Australia ” get this: “spent $13
billion on desalination plants.” They spent $13 billion to convert
seawater to freshwater because of the forecast droughts, and now they’re
overrun with floods.  “Last spring, Queensland’s prime minister, the
drought- and warming-obsessed Anna Bligh, ordered the water company not
to allow any releases from the dam because water was such a ‘precious
resource’ that none must be wasted.”

Classic.  This is what happens when you let liberals run things uncontrolled and unchecked, and
this kind of thing is going to continue to happen, ladies and
gentlemen, as the years roll before our very eyes. (sigh)

A spiritual journey into the out back of Australia

Sarah Palin is Right

Sarah Palin is Right

Sarah Palin is in a position where no matter what she says or does, she is going to be in someone’s cross hairs. The media and the left will find some little phrase to blow out of proportion and criticize her  regardless of the topic.

She is challenging the establishment, not only on the left, but the right as well. After giving a superb speech following the Tucson shooting, she was again criticized and even humiliated by the press and politicians as well.

I find it strange that anyone on the left can say whatever they want, and as soon as someone on the right tries to defend themselves and offer their point of view, they are portrayed as a stupid  uninformed bigot.

I have found that Sarah Palin is going to do what she thinks is right, not for her, but for her children and our country. Regardless of what the polls say, or what is considered proper, she is going to do it her way. For that, she deserves our admiration and respect.

As of this point in time , it’s not been determined if she wants, or will run for president, she is saying what needs to  be said. People need to hear these things, the reason some find it offensive is because of the fact that sometimes the truth hurts. People deep down know that what she is saying is true, but it doesn’t conform to what they believe, want to admit to , or what they were taught growing up.

I grew up being taught good values , values that if practiced on a regular basis, would more often than not provide a life of  relative prosperity and happiness. Challenges and hardships are a part of life, regardless of what one does there will be times when life doesn’t turn out as we would like. If one has a grounded set of values and faith, it is much easier to overcome these times with the least amount of damage done to our finances and well being.

Sarah Palin is only reiterating those sound principles, everything she says makes perfect sense to any one who remembers how life was when people remembered what made our country and people great. Not only  in America , but the world  as well, things have gotten so skewed in the last forty years, a lot of people think that good common sense is a distorted way of looking at things. They can’t even comprehend that the values and principles they were taught just don’t work

Politicians and others keep doing and saying the same things over and over again, and expecting different results. Actions and thoughts create results, keep thinking and acting in the same way, the results will be the same.

Sarah, you are doing the right thing, don’t know if you will ever be President, I don’t even know if you want to be, but what you are doing is noble and right, keep it up, the world needs you.
