Learning Self Reliance

During a group  discussion yesterday, a colleague of mine relayed an incident of when he was six years old. It seems he grew up in a tough neighborhood and was continuously beaten up every day on his way home from school by a group of five brothers.
One day while running home from school, the brothers started chasing him, immediately sensing danger, he made a dash for the side door of his house. Grabbing the door knob and expecting to reach the sanctuary of home , he found the door locked. Seeing his father inside he began yelling for his dad to open the door.

His father replied,”Sorry, I can’t do that son, you have to learn how to handle this problem on your own.” Turning around he saw the five brothers coming at him with a vengeance. It was now or never, so picking out the smallest of the brothers, the one he thought he could possibly take down, they immediately began to fight.

The battle became extremely violent and bitter with neither one willing to give up. After a what seemed long battle a truce was reached and the conflict ended. As soon as the wounds healed, they became best of friends and there would be no more fights.

His mother was very unhappy with dad, however, dad and son finally convinced her of the wisdom of the choice and life went on, despite the torn clothing. Because of this incident, the son learned much about life that he could not have been taught any other way.

This happened many years ago, before political correctness. In today’s world the father would have probably been sued for child abuse. What a shame.

Now, I’m not one to advocate violence, but as a youth I had been involved in similar circumstances, and even as an adult, although it didn’t come to blows, I have had a couple occasions where major conflicts have  arisen.

In all cases, when the conflict was solved to the mutual agreement of all concerned , we have become good friends. We are all human beings, a part of the animal kingdom, and like it or not, there is and always will be a pecking order. that is a fact of nature, nothing will ever change that.

As we go through life, in all relationships, boundaries are established. In most cases, these boundaries can be established by peaceful means. However, there will always be times when as a last resort, we must take drastic measures.

This is true, not only on a personal level but a world level as well. We must remember there are some people who don’t like us, and even some who would like to do us in, that will never change.

In today’s world, often times kids are pampered and every little problem is solved for them by some well meaning adult. Little does this adult realize how much they are harming the child by not letting them solve their own problems.

How is this person going to learn to solve the many problems of adulthood if they are denied the privilege of learning this as a child when the consequences are a lot less? In our zeal to establish a perfect society, we have forgotten the basic principle of life. Each and every person has to be responsible for themselves and be able to take care of themselves.

When we deny them that important learning lesson, we are doing them a great disservice,  it actually does them a tremendous amount of harm by not teaching them to be  self-reliant.

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, When looking back in history, I soon discovered this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said, ”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.” As obvious as it may seem, many seem to be totally oblivious to it. Most, if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to overcomplicate the issues. I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice. It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.

Change the Direction of our Country

Much
has been said about changing the direction the country is headed,
recent polls show that a large majority of the American people believe
the country is and has been headed in the wrong direction for quite some
time.

This
is a problem that has developed over the last several decades and as a
result there is no fast fix. Thankfully, because of the internet, and
the easy access to information, more and more people are becoming
interested in the political future of their nation and realize that
something must be done in order to protect our freedom and capitalistic
way of life.

This
is all well and good and is the way it should be, our government was
formed to provide for government by the people, not special interest
groups. The quick fix to saving our way of life is to get involved and
stay informed. Thankfully the Tea Party is providing a way to counteract
some of the disgusting things going on in Washington.

This
will only last so long, sooner or later the people involved in
rectifying things will be getting older and unable to carry the ball.
Sooner or later the youth will take over. Regretfully, many of them have
been misinformed and thereby don’t understand the way life and our
country works.

They
have grown up in an entitlement society, this has been brought on not
only by the liberal left trying to convince them that government can
provide all their wants and needs, but also by organized labor and
private enterprise providing them everything one would want as far as
money and benefits, including health care.

The
idea that one could reap many benefits by working for someone else
isn’t all bad. There is nothing wrong with employees sharing in the
wealth a company enjoys because the employees have given much in time ,
effort and creativity, thereby providing much opportunity for the
economic growth of the employer.

However
because of this, an atmosphere of dependency has been created. Today in
many cases it is now easier and more profitable to work for someone
else than to start one’s own business. With all the taxes and
regulations imposed by the government, a hostile environment has been
created.

Much
of this has been intentional by elected  government officials, the more
dependent we are on them, the more likely we will elect them back into
office, and it is only natural for most people to take the easy way out
and seek the path of least resistance.

The
problem now is the path of least resistance has now become a very rocky
road. People have come to believe they deserve something for nothing,
and that all of big business is evil. This needs to change.

The
only long term solution is to start educating our children in the
proper role of government and business. This has to start at home and in
the schools. At this stage of the game it won’t be easy. Many educators
now believe that socialism is the answer to all our problems and they
have forgotten the basic principles of the founding of our country.

We
need to have school choice, whereby if a parent didn’t like the things
his child was being taught, the children could be sent to another
school. Create competition among the schools, there is money attached to
the backs of each child. If the schools have to compete for these
dollars, they will improve.

In
the early days of this country, a lot of schooling was provided by
religious organizations. There are downfalls to this plan, but it would
probably work better than the present system. The schools have gotten too
large, when any organization gets too large, it becomes wasteful and
corrupt.

Our
country was founded on the principle that we keep government out of
religion, not religion out of government. Myself, when I was in
elementary school, the whole school went to church for an hour on Friday
afternoon. We had three choices, Catholic, Baptist and Lutheran, the
only three churches in town.  This was a good thing, as for many
students, this was their only chance to learn moral principles, as some
of  their parents had none.

I
think this can be proven, I contend that most small rural schools
provide a much better learning environment and education than their
counterparts in the larger cities. When schools are smaller, it creates a
more personal environment and the learning can be more hands on,
smaller class sizes aren’t that important, what is important is
discipline and self control.

Only
when students no longer feel like a number and realize their opinion
does mean something, they begin to realize there is a better way than
having someone supply all your wants and needs. There is something to be
said for self reliance.

Quick Heal for Burns

Healing Miracle for burns:

A young man sprinkling
his lawn and bushes with pesticides wanted to check the contents of the
barrel to see how much pesticide remained in it.  He raised the cover and lit his lighter; the vapors inflamed and engulfed him.

He jumped from his truck, screaming.  His neighbor came out of her house with a dozen eggs, yelling: “bring me some eggs!”  She broke them, separating the whites from the yolks.  The neighbor woman helped her to apply the whites on the young man’s face.  When the ambulance arrived and when the EMTs saw the young man, they asked who had done this.

Everyone pointed to the lady in charge.  They congratulated her and said: “You have saved his face.”  By the end of the summer, the young man brought the lady a bouquet of roses to thank her.  His face was like a baby’s skin.

Keep in mind this treatment of burns which is included in teaching beginner fireman this method.  First aid consists to spraying cold water on the affected area until the heat is reduced and stops burning the layers of skin.  Then, spread egg whites on the affected are.

One woman burned a large part of her hand with boiling water.  In
spite of the pain, she ran cold faucet water on her hand, separated 2
egg white from the yolks, beat them slightly and dipped her hand in the
solution.  The whites then dried and formed a protective layer.

She later learned that
the egg white is a natural collagen and continued during at least one
hour to apply layer upon layer of beaten egg white.  By afternoon she no longer felt any pain and the next day there was hardly a trace of the burn.  10 days later, no trace was left at all and her skin had regained its normal color.  The burned area was totally regenerated thanks to the collagen in the egg whites, a placenta full of vitamins.

Changing Attitudes Concerning Government

Due to recent advances in technology, peoples attitudes concerning the influence that government has in our personal lives is changing.

There
has been a general trend over the last several years for government to
exert more control and influence in our daily lives. Many people would
like a cradle to grave society where government would take care of us
and cater to our every need.
This
is not only unachievable, but undesirable as well.

 Even though it
sounds wonderful on the surface, many problems arise when one puts
another in charge of their life. Evidence of this is already surfacing
as it is becoming more and more evident that government interference is
not a desirable or efficient solution to our daily challenges.

The
human soul does not want to be “taken care of.” The soul wants
challenges and stimulation to grow and evolve. When personal freedom is
squelched, the spirit is denied. It leaves no room for personal growth.
When the spirit is denied,it also dulls the spirit of humanity in
general.

No country can grow and prosper when it’s citizens are denied
personal freedom and rights.Fortunately,
most people are beginning to realize this, more and more we are hearing
how Americans want the government to butt out of their lives. More
people are demanding a return to a time when people could make decisions
about their personal lives without having to consult with some
government bureaucrat.

As
the shift in consciousness becomes more evident, more souls will
realize how important personal freedom is. With the development of the
Internet, it is becoming more and more convenient to get involved in
politics. Also information is more freely available to the average
citizen, and all sides of the political spectrum are available. Now we can
seek opinions from all sides and not have to rely on the rheteric of CNN
and NBC.

This
is all for the good, it is only by having an informed and proactive
public can freedom survive. No longer can politicians tell one group of
voters one thing, and travel to another location and say the exact
opposite.

It has taken the politicians a while to figure this out as
they are still trying to pull the wool over our eyes, but times are
changing, both they and the public are becoming aware that the old ways
no longer work.

We as Americans are in control of our destiny, and only by staying informed and voting wisely, will we remain free to chose our own path.

Look to the Future

Our whole life, up to this point has been determined by what we have thought, said, and done in the past. We have created the universe we now exist in. It is my firm belief that on some level of consciousness, we create everything we experience. Even the so called negative parts, they were created by us so we might learn from them and realize there is a better way, we are better than that .

It is a form of self punishment that teaches us to respect and honor ourselves. Once we learn self love, no longer will we have the need to let so called negative events into our lives.

We have become addicted to feelings because of events in  our past. Believe it or not , we become addicted to negative feelings as well and often expect and want them over positive feelings because of the familiarity it brings.

What has happened in the past is over, it  needs to influence where we are going only in a positive way. We can change the future by changing our thoughts.

Even though we came into this existence with a predestined plan,  dreamed up by us and approved by the higher source, this signifies only the least we can accomplish and still be happy. This pre-destiny was determined to give us the most opportunity for the  growth of our soul.

It is now time to put everything we have learned to use, it is time to plot a new future. It is time to take all we have learned and been taught and put it to good use for the betterment of not only ourselves but others as well.

The past is only a memory and should be used only as a reference of the things we have done in the past. Those actions we did and the results we achieved from them, if the end result was positive, then we should again repeat those deeds to achieve a positive end result. If the end result was something we would rather not experience again, then we need to take that experience and realize we should not perform those acts again.

Humanity and the world has seen much turmoil the past few years, much karma is being played out. The way out of this mess we have created is to learn from our past actions and develop a more positive plan of action. People need to learn that they are in control of their lives. No one can do it for you. It may seem easier for the government or some other authority figure to do it for us, but no one will take care of you and have your concerns at heart more than you do.

No one has more at stake in your life than you do, it is time to take back the individual control of our lives, and accept personal responsibility. Once that is accomplished by the masses, most of our social problems will soon disappears.

The Agenda of the Radical Left

The
radical left movement of today , the favorite of the main stream media
has a far different agenda than what is normally assumed by most people
toady. The movement has it’s modern day roots in the supposedly anti-war
protests of the 1960s.

When
the anti-war protests are thought of , the first thing to come to mind
is Jane Fonda sitting on a North Vietnamese tank in Hanoi, victimizing
our  captured hero’s and subjecting them to endless torture and
humiliation.

For
the most part the riots that took place in Chicago and various cities
across our nation had little to do with the war. The war just gave the
participants a reason to act inappropriately. The actions of many  at
the times exemplifies what I am saying.

Many
were committing despicable acts against the police and others who were
there to protect them. It wasn’t and won’t be reported by the media that
many rioters were throwing their own excrement at police officers. If
they were protesting the war, what did this act have to do with the
Vietnam War? Nothing. They were only a bunch of ungrateful spoiled kids
who were protesting against authority and the very system that gave them
the best and safest lifestyle the world has ever know.

Even
today, the violence continues, the left, who continuously preaches
about how open minded and forgiving they are, still vilify anyone who
disagrees with them. They are only open minded and forgiving only if you
agree with them. Their attacks sometimes border on violence and are
despicable, very much in contrast to the Tea Party, whom they are always
trying to accuse of violence.

Most
are projectionists, they very things they accuse others of doing, they
themselves are guilty of. The same mentality exists today that began in
the 60s with the so-called anti- war movement, which was actually an
anti-establishment movement. They were against anything ordinary people
were for, and still are.

Not
all liberals are this way, most are very decent, upstanding citizens.
As in most cases, we only hear from the most radical, they are the one’s
who can sell the most advertising and ads on CNN. The radical left has
only one agenda, tearing down the very fabric that made this country
strong.

They
are power hungry and want to be able to control the world through their
own actions , by creating a socialists state whereby every one is
equally broke, except for the one’s in power. This sort of society
destroys all human unintuitive and makes slaves of everyone.

Many
are very fundamentalist and would like to return to a life in the far
distant past, where life seems simpler, believe me it wasn’t. Our
ancestors had many more survival problems than we have today.

Contrary
to popular opinion, they don’t have every one’s  best interest in mind,
only theirs. To think otherwise could be detrimental to our well being
as a society.

Limiting Beliefs

We live most of our lives trying to figure out life, and once we think we have the mystery solved , life throws us a curve and we start all over again. There are many misconceptions in life. One of the most common misconceptions concerns limited beliefs.

Most people believe that our resources are limited whether it be on a personal level, a national level or a world level. Not only is there an unlimited supply of  the natural resources such as oil or clean air on a world level, but we have unlimited resources on a personal level as well.

We have all been taught from an early age by the well intentioned  people in our lives that there is only so much of anything  to go around and we as humans can only do so much. This simply isn’t true. We are only limited by the belief that we only deserve so much or that we aren’t worthy of the many blessings life has to offer.

We are all entitled, while remaining humble, to live life to the fullest and to live an authentic life , lived from your heart, speaking your truths, while standing firm in your beliefs, and being able to change your stand when new knowledge comes your way.

I’m not exactly clear what the origin of this
phenomenon is, but many of us are taught at an early
age that you can’t have everything.  Because of this
belief, we decide that we must make a choice between
two things that we desire.

Personally, I don’t believe this.  I
believe you CAN have it all.  What you can’t do,
however, is create it at the same time.  We need to
focus on manifesting things one at a time until we
attract it to us.

This is a fairly simple shift to make.
However, along with the idea that you can’t have
everything is the concept that certain goals are
mutually exclusive!  No matter what these two goals are
for each of us, we face the same dilemma:  choosing to
cut out one part of us in favor of another.

Seeing the quandary is only half the battle.  Once we
become aware that we feel we have to choose between two goodies,
it is necessary to change our thought patterns.  The
primary work here is to wrap your mind around the possibility
of having and enjoying both things at once.

To
help you do this, I have included some specific belief
transformation statements that can help allow you to create
everything you want, just one thing at as time!

For the
following statements, say each one out loud until it
feels 100% true.  Then, and only then, move on to the next
one, repeating that statement until it is true.  The
process may be fast or slow, it really doesn’t matter.
What is important is that you allow any resistance to make
itself known and to incorporate it into the statement.  For
example, if you feel fear, add the phrase “Despite the fear
I feel,” to the beginning of the statement, never at
the end.

  1. I’m 100% open to the idea that I can have love and money at one and the same time.

  2. I’m 100% willing to accept that I can have love and money at one and the same time.

  3. I’m 100% ready to accept that I can have love and money at one and the same time.

  4. I’m 100% ready to have love and money at one and the same time.

  5. I now choose to have love and money at one and the same time.

  6. I now commit 100% to having love and money at one and the same time.

  7. I am now 100% committed to having love and money at one and the same time.

  8. I am now 100% committed to taking action to
prove that I am willing to have love and money at
    one and the same time.

Practice trhis daily and I’m sure you will see a change in your life in a very short time.
