The Separation of Church and State

People are continuously saying that in the United States, we need to keep church and state separate.

In many instances this is true, we certainly don’t need a country where everything is decided by a church or our whole government is run by a religious figure. The founding fathers took many measures to insure that  wouldn’t happen. They saw what had come about in Europe because of those issue, and were determined to not let that happen here.

However, that doesn’t mean we should shut God or religion completely out of government. We are seeing first hand what becoming a secular government has done for our country. In the last several years, we have abandoned the basic principles of decency and common sense that made our country great.

We no longer adhere to the universal laws that our founders based our constitution and bill of rights on. Our founders were deeply concerned this could happen.

Our constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence rank right up there with the Holy Bible and the Magna Carta as sacred documents. If followed, they guarantee rights and freedoms unparalleled in human history.

Although we don’t need or want a country governed by a religious zealot, we do need a president who believes in a supreme being, or God.It is essential, If one doesn’t believe in God, they naturally believe in government.

Our rights as humans come from God, no government should have authority over us. We have power over government , we are the ones telling them what to do not the opposite as is happening in today’s world.

It is important we get back on the right track.
